Multiplier Workshops | Hungary
InHungary, we organized the first session of our multiplier event on 14 October 2016. We invited BaCulit trainers involved in the in-service teacher training participated in the workshop the programme of which was the following:
The first BleTeach multpilier event (14 October, 2016):
9.30 – 10.00: Arrival, registration
10.00 – 13.00: Introduction of BleTeach project (Prof. Dr. János Steklács, Dr. Ildikó Szabó, Dr. Veronika Szinger). Discussion about the concepts, planned courses, content of the modules. Questions.
13.00: Buffet luncheon.
During the workshop, we shared the first two intellectual outputs we elaborated within the BleTeach project: the National Report on Good Practice Examples and Blended Learning Concepts and the Pool of Concepts and Course Materials in Hungarian about Content Area Literacy Training for Secondary Teachers. We, also, shared and discussed the first draft of the concept of the HU version of the IDEAL Improving Disciplinary LEArning through Literacy course.
The feedback collected was mainly referring to the content of the national course– e.g. starting with a kind of appetizer (Module 0); splitting Module 5 throughout the whole course; formative assessment could be red thread in the whole course; CARI as such is very hard for teachers so something more adaptable should be offered.
The participants also commented on the structure of the course: depending on the content, 70%-30% or 30%-70% would be ideal ratio of online and F2F sections. 3 days for meetings should be involved; easing the technical difficulties should be in the focus.
As it can be taken from our participants’ comments, the duration and the cost of a course is one of the most crucial elements and its accreditation is decisive for their participation.
